Monkee See, Monkee Die
Back Home Up Next

Ellie and the Monkees must spend the night in a creepy mansion supposedly inhabited by ghosts. The other living residents of the house are bent on driving the youths off the island, so they use the fear already cultivated in the boys and girl to their advantage. Ghosts, spiritualism, and other things connected with sorcery are designed to produce fear and bondage, and they are definitely not from God. In fact, both the Mosaic Law of the Old Testament and the writers of the New Testament, under direct orders from God, condemned the practice of magic. Moses stated, "When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you" (Deuteronomy 18:9-12; also see Acts 19:17-20; Revelation 9:20-21, 22:15).
