One evening after supper, Millie chatters to Davy about her old neighborhood and the fact that she used to call to the neighbors as she walked by. Intrigued by her enthusiasm, Davy asks why she left. She answers sadly, "No one ever called back."

How many times have we let valuable friendships go unformed because we ignored someone, intentionally or not? Perhaps we will never know until eternity. Of course, it is seldom wise to become best friends with everyone we meet, especially in these days of increasing wickedness. However, even just a friendly smile to someone you pass on the street could make an incredible difference to that person. Let us always remember what Jesus said: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me" (Matthew 25:40).
