Monkees in Manhattan

The guys pull off a crazy stunt to help Mr. Baker find a backer for his Broadway production. When the needed financial aid comes with the stipulation that the principle characters in the musical be four girls instead of four boys (parts originally offered to the Monkees), the group selflessly encourages Mr. Baker to take the money and call them when he has another show in which they can star. They then have to work for the money for the bus trip home.

It sometimes seems like good deeds go unrewarded and unappreciated. While we may not receive compensation (or even thanks) for our acts of kindness here on earth, God always notices and repays in eternity. "When you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward" (Matthew 6:3-4, 42).
