Monkees Blow Their Minds

The potion Oraculo uses to subject the Monkees to his psychic servitude is an obvious analogy to drug use, but the allegory applies to any kind of sin. Certainly, drugs are addictive and cause behavioral changes, to say nothing of the physical damage they do. However, there are more sins than just drug abuse. Sin—whether it be lying, murder, alcoholism, or sexual immorality—creates bondage and causes those who willfully engage in it to become slaves to that sin (see Romans 7:14-15). The only way to break this bondage is to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior; "he whom the Son sets free is free indeed" (John 8:36).
